What We Test For
Our on-site test covers every measurement that matters in Northwest Montana water:
Hardness (grains per gallon)
Tells us exactly how much calcium and magnesium your water carries.
Iron and manganese
The cause of orange and black staining in fixtures and laundry.
pH
Acidic water corrodes plumbing; alkaline water affects taste and treatment design.
Total dissolved solids (TDS)
A snapshot of overall mineral content.
Chlorine / chloramine
Common in Kalispell, Whitefish, and Columbia Falls city water.
Hydrogen sulfide
The rotten-egg smell common in some Flathead-area wells.
Optional lab panels
Bacteria, nitrates, arsenic, PFAS, and lead — sent to a certified lab.
Why Testing Matters
Water in the Flathead Valley varies enormously block-to-block. A home in Kalispell may have chlorinated city water, while a neighbor on a private well a mile away has high iron and sulfur. The only way to know what your home actually needs is to test.
Anyone who recommends a system without testing your water is guessing.
